One of my 2013 resolution was to join a dance class but i ended up joining a fitness center instead. Simply because it's near to my place and they have zumba, aerobics/cardio dance and MTV dance workout. Close enough.
So i've been attending their classes religiously for a month and a half now. My guy friends i found were..how to say, quite skeptical. One guy said
"Tidak payah la ko pegi gym tu. Sama ja badan ko saya nampak"
Another one 'lovingly' said
"Kenapa ko selalu pegi gym, sama juga besar badan ko saya nampak?"
Losing weight might not be my main motivation to join a gym. Ada la juga sikit2 kan. But when you reached certain age, losing weight is not as easy when you are 18. For me, its more to maintaining my weight. I love food, i love fried food. I think it's quite miserable to live but not eating and merely surviving on carrot sticks because you are calorie-phobic. I exercised so that i can eat fried chicken or chips or ice creams or fried rice or roti canai or nasi lemak without too much guilt.
People exercise for many different reasons. Losing weight, health reasons as it helps with cholesterol, blood pressure etc, stress management. I join this fitness center mainly because of my love for zumba and dance. It is something that i love to do, to keep me happy and helps with stress. To some extent, make new friends and cuci mata. Cough cough.
I danced, i zumba, i made new friends and my eyes are certainly VERY clean. I'm a happy girl.
When in gym, i couldn't help it but to observe people. It's so funny sometimes.

1. The people taking selfies
Epic. Their fingers exercise more than their other muscles. I see a lot of pictures like this on social media.
2. The Beauty Queen
Aaahh..i see a lot of this. They had make up, contact lenses on and hair down like that. I mean how do you work out like that?! Oh and they hardly sweat. They will be walking around the gym, then stroll on the treadmill while scrolling on their phones before going into the locker room to check their appearance. Goshh.. So there is this one Lady of Leisure i knew at the gym. She's pretty and has different manicure every week. One time she looks as if she just came out of a salon! But she was really sweet and friendly it's impossible not to like her.
3. The One-Who's-Obliviously-A-Dancer
The experienced dancer that takes classes only to ignore the instructor and do as she pleases and made everyone else in the class looks bad. There was one new girl who was always stretching ballet-ish before classes and do as she please during the class. Not that i have any problem with that. It's just that she is so cocky and has that smug look on her face while doing it. She even has this ballet shoes/stocking she wore during the class..Goshh..
Well anyway, here is a funny post of woman you met at the gym. No matter what gym you went to anywhere in the world, you'll find these type of people. Entertaining and annoying at the same time.
Alrighty, off to cardio dance now!
