It is a well known fact that I'm a fitness junkie. The gym is my third home (after home and work place). So much so that my sister said I spent half of my lifetime in the gym.
Which is not true.
And I spent inordinate amount of money on sports attire. In my defense, it is an investment. Good Dri-fit material absorbs sweat better, you don't smell bad even if you sweat like a pig and is still very stretchable a year later.
Why am I so commited (addicted) to fitness and how do I stay motivated you ask?
Fitness is a lifestyle. It is a lifetime habit. You can read THIS or THIS for benefits of regular exercise. To me personally, exercise helps me to destress, maintains my weight and boost my confidence. Gym is a place that i escape from daily life.
It is exhausting to pretend to smile when inside you are strangling them. That's how i feel most of the time during my working hours. At the end of the day, I need to release all that negative energy.
When in the gym, I leave all my stressors outside. I don't think about anything else when working out.
I'm happy in the gym. Exercise makes me happy, zumba keeps me sane.
(Tipu lah kau Cyn, you are happy in the gym sebab kau boleh cuci mata lepas tu pancing ikan kan di gym tuuu. Cehh)
What keeps me motivated?
Potential hunks that I'm going to meet keeps me motivated. I'm mak ayam remember?
Besides that, the real reason is that when you see your body changes or when you grow stronger, the satisfaction is addictive. The other day, I was sharing leg press machine with 2 Iranian guys. I was doing an almost similar weight with them and I can tell that they are impressed.
So one of them chatted me up and asked how long have I been working out?I said 2 years.
"It's obvious. You have a nice body." Akak flip hair bukan sebab akak have nice body but because I can do heavier weights than you. Heh.
And undeniably people who work out are more confident and sexy. They don't necessarily have better looking body but they are more confident. And confidence is attractive.
With sooo many great benefits of exercise, is there anything dangerous with exercise?
Yes there is.
Along with reduction in my waistline, my boobs is disappearing.
Boobs are fat tissue so when you lose fat and lose weight, you lost your boobs too. That is dangerous and DEVASTATING.
So I was talking to a certified personal trainer, a guy obviously, who wanted to be my private trainer and design a fitness program for me. He asked all these questions, body measurements, waist size etc to understand my body better and areas for improvement. I wanted toned arms and tummy.
And then he was asking about my boobs. If I wanted to firm my boobs up or to increase size. Is it saggy? If it sags whether it's still in middle or sideways. And whether I wear half cup or full cup bra. And if my hormones okay and my period is regular.
I swear to you it's borderline sexual harassment. Thank God I have not met him in person yet.
I asked is it necessary to answer all that questions?
"Of course. We have to learn all that during training."
Apparently I lost a lot of fat but it's okay, my boobs can still be saved from further damage. So i need to stop taking fat burners, eat more estrogen boosting food and he suggested to put on a little bit weight (sizing) then toning.
WHAT? PUT ON MORE WEIGHT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!
