The first thing that attracts me is his smile, not the abs. Cross my heart and hope to die.

"Dari gaya kau, for someone like you, mesti kau ni high taste kan? Mesti lelaki yang handsome saja kau pandang."

I get this a lot. Selain kena cakap jual mahal, saya selalu dituduh high taste. For someone like me (what does that even mean?!?), haruskah saya high taste?

I've written about how I prefer someone average looking than someone universally handsome and hot HERE. It is natural that we humans are attracted to something that is pleasing to the eyes but it's just that, something for the eyes. What matters to me the most is the heart.

Friends who have seen guys I dated would agree that I don't prioritize looks. Some even said

"I don't know why you are with this guy. He's not even good-looking."

To others he might not be good-looking but to me he is and he has got something that others don't.

So what is it that someone like me finds attractive in a guy?

1. Smile
This is the first thing that attracts me. When their smile reaches their eyes and are genuinely happy to see you. Nothing beats a smile like that to warm my heart and make my day. I think this is the same with guys. Most would say a smile is what attracts them to a girl. When you smile, I know you are comfortable with yourself, you are confident, you are friendly and I can be comfortable around you. Your smile reflects your heart and soul. You don't have to be extremely good looking, a sincere smile that lights up your face is more than enough.

2. Confidence
Nothings is more sexy than someone who is confident. Both man and woman alike. Confident enough to look me in the eyes and smile at me. Guys who are confident are comfortable with themselves, they can accept their strength and weaknesses and does not need to compete with anyone else. They know their worth. People who are confident have this something about them.

3. A Broad Shoulder
Some girls prefer bum, some prefer abs but a broad chest and shoulder is my thing. It's something to do with making me feel secure and confident that you are able to protect me from harm. Hihi.

4. Passion and interest
Passion in your job, in your hobbies or anything you do. People who are passionate about something inspires me. It makes you an interesting person and I always like to enquire what you do in a day's work. I get to learn about you and things that interest you. Indirectly, I also learned about a world that is different from my own.

5. Sense of Humour
One of the most attractive quality someone can have is to make another person laugh and not to take yourself too seriously. Who wants to be with someone so serious, grumpy and cranky when life is already hard enough?

6. Polite and well-mannered
If you want to see the true measure of someone, see how they treat someone who has nothing to offer. See how they treat waiters or cleaners. There's nothing more turn off than someone who is rude and ill-mannered. There is something very endearing about a guy who offered his seat to someone more needy or a guy who hold the door open for someone else to pass through.

7. How you made me feel
This is the hardest one to find. Someone we can click with. Someone who made me feel like I really mattered, someone who is genuinely interested in me and all my mundane details, someone who inspired me to be a better person, someone who really cared and not just someone who wanted to "own" someone. That is a real challenge.

So you see, I'm not that high taste at all.

The Beautiful Malacca

St Paul's Church Malacca is probably my third favourite city. My first time visiting this amazing place was when i was 14 for a youth camp and has been visiting Malacca for countless times now. Day trips with friends or families,countless programs and courses over the years. It's probably that few coins i threw into the old well or an empty tomb on St Paul's Hill. Oh you know what they say about throwing coins and you'll come visit that place again someday. I love the old historical buildings, The Stadhuys, the architecture and colours of the building.
