A Minority Among The Majority

Tiada kaitan dengan tajuk dan isi karangan hari ini. 
Most West Malaysians are sceptical about East Malaysians and vice versa. West Malaysians cakap orang Sabah Sarawak ni mundur, duduk atas pokok, pakai cawat dan macam2 lagi la. East Malaysians pula cakap orang Malaya ni racist, religion extremist, narrow minded. Sampai buat statement "Sarawak for Sarawakians". 

Kamu tidak fikir ka, kalau orang semenanjung pun buat macam tu "West Malaysia for West Malaysians", macam mana dengan East Malaysians yang cari rezeki di semenanjung? 

Bukan semua orang Malaya macam tu. Ada juga yang baik, open minded, boleh terima dan bergaul dengan kami East Malaysians yang di Semenanjung ni. Sepanjang hampir 10 Tahun saya di sini, ramai kawan2 semenanjung saya baik2. They are very curious about us so it is our responsibility to show them first hand our culture and tradition. 

I have a Malay Muslim friend who likes Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and that whole sequel of movie. So if you have read the book or watch the movie, it's about Catholic Church. I did not read the book or watch the movie so I'm not sure how accurate the information is. But this friend of mine said he's very interested in Vatican, the process of pope selection and rambles on pontification, conclave etc etc etc. So i sat there and listened. He also asked if i attended Sunday School and stuff. So i told him all the process we go through in church (baptism, confirmation etc),the difference in various Christians denominations, and divorce is frowned upon in Catholic church and such.  I think the narrow minded ones will think I'm trying to convert him (as if that's possible in Malaysia). 

He just wanted to know in order to understand Christians better. And he is a practising Muslim. 

Samalah macam saya tanya pasal agama Islam dan amalan2nya. Tidak bermaksud saya mau convert. Its for my knowledge so that I can understand them better. 

I wish most Malaysians can be like him.
