For an introvert, vacations can sometimes be overwhelming and unpleasant.
Sensory overstimulation can quickly deplete their energy and turns what's supposed to be a rejuvenating getaway into a nightmare.
I've had my fair share of "nightmarish-energy-draining" vacations and I can honestly tell you, it's no fun. I came back tired, cranky, and definitely need a post-vacation vacation to recharge 😛
How to avoid "introverts-nightmare-vacation"?

1. The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur

- Huge,immaculate compound with a lot of greens
- Plenty of space & nook for you to unwind
- Calm & quiet, not crowded. Sometimes you don't even bump into anyone
- Still located in the city, within reach of most things and places.
Cons:
- A bit pricey

2. Tasik Kebun Resort Serendah
Tasik Kebun Resort is a nature resort in Serendah, a quaint town in Hulu Selangor, about 45 minutes drive from KL.
If you love kampung-style living, you will definitely love Tasik Kebun Resort.
The chalets and villas are beautifully constructed and blend into the natural surroundings and lush greenery of Serendah forests.
Pros:
- Away from the city
- Beautiful chalet/villa-style accommodation
- Sounds of nature at night (crickets, frogs), sometimes rain
- In-house restaurant with affordable foods
- Activities: Kayak, fishing, visit a nearby waterfall
Cons:
- Tend to attract families for family day things - so can be noisy, lots of kids running & screaming
- Smaller, intimate compound - feels "crowded" if there are lots of guests
- Limited F&B options & need to drive out quite far

3. Harmony Valley Retreat, Janda Baik
Nestled among the misty mountain in Janda Baik is Harmony Valley Retreat, a mini Zen retreat and organic garden.
Clean, cool air, lush greenery, tranquility-in less than 1-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. A great place to do just nothing and soak in the vibes.
Pros:
- Attracts like-minded people - very quiet even if the villa is fully booked
- Amazing view & ambiance - mist, cool air, birds chirping
- Spacious, clean room
- Courteous & helpful staff
- In house breakfast
Cons:
- Limited parking
- Phone line is sucky - could be pros for some
- Limited F&B option - might need to drive out to Janda Baik town area for food, which is quite far.

Pros:

- Serene, secluded & exclusive
- In-room jacuzzi
- No children below 16 years old are allowed - no screaming, noisy children at the pool

Pros:
- Immaculate, well-maintained greeneries.

- Friendly staff with personalized service - I'm surprised the staff greet me by name when I called the front desk. Amazing!
- Parking available
Cons:
- A bit dark at night (if darkness is not your thing)
- A bit pricey

- In a jungle but with the comforts of the city
- Vending machine, filtered and hot water provided
Cons:
- Quite far
- Do expect creepy crawlies - it comes with being in a jungle
- Limited space in the room -depends on the room you choose
