Melbourne 2019 - We Love Melbourne!
Right in front of SXS |
I don't know where to start. Very long overdue post but do check it out for your reference if you would like to visit Melbourne one day.
And oh, also for you to learn from our mistakes.
This is also not a How-To-Travel-To-Melbourne-With-Just-RM1000 kinda post because we don't compromise on comfort and convenience.
Bercuti sekali sekala, mestilah nak selesa kan.
So here it is!
I first visited Melbourne in 2011 and left me pretty impressed. So promised myself that I will visit it again. Who knew it took 8 years. yalls tau lah, ekonomi kurang memberangsangkan.
We bought our tix a year before the trip, all thanks to our tix manager/ fellow Aussie traveler Sharon who always alerts us of any tix promo.
A return tix KL-Melbourne cost us about RM900+. Plus-minus luggage and other things.
Tips: On your return flight from Melbourne, do get an adequate luggage allowance because you will shop like crazeeeeee.
As someone who is very OCD on planning and details, I did research & planning 6 months before the trip. You know, the usual. Accommodation, transport, visa, what to do, where to go, and stuff.
Tips: You will need a visa to enter Australia and it can either be applied online (cost you AUD20) or get a travel agent to do it for you (cheaper, RM20).
Sharon applied for all of us via a travel agent 2 months before the trip. Just make sure you bring along the printed one for verification purposes.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of an itinerary or at least your accommodation & other booking details while you are in Australia as their border control is soooo tight!
Anyone who's been to Australia can relate to the stress of going through their Immigration counter.
So anyway the four of us chickies were supposed to depart from KLIA2 via Air Asia at 10.30PM.
Malang tidak berbau, semasa atas runway, kapal terpaksa berpatah balik kerana mengalami masalah aircond. Akhirnya pukul 1am barulah weols berangkat ke Melbourne. Biar lambat asal selamat katanya.
Sis berasa sangat bertuah kerana seat sebelah kosong, maka bolehlah I terbongkang conquer 2 seat untuk perjalanan 8 jam tu.
Selesa lah sikit walaupun budak kecik aisle sebelah asyik menangis dan mak dia pulak OCD and restless, tak berhenti-henti keluar masuk keluar masukkan barang-barang dia dari overhead compartment atas kepala I.

8 hours of dry, recycled cabin air.
So plan your journey properly.
Kami disambut dengan hujan dan deru angin gila sejuk sebab time tu awal April kan, permulaan musim luruh. But we love cold weather!
Dari Avalon ke bandar Melbourne (Melbourne CBD), weols naik SkyBus ke Southern Cross Station (SXS). SXS ni ala-ala macam KL Sentral gitula. SkyBus in beroperasi 24jam ye.
Return tix per adult is AUD46 (lebih kurang RM133)

Okay tu sis kat belakang baru lepas beli tiket bas untuk anak-anak ayam sis. |
Internet penting sebab nak update social media dengan tujuan show off contact host AirBnb dan untuk weols navigate our way around town.
Ada beberapa telco uols boleh pilih. Weols pilih mana-mana yang murah time tu so weols beli Vodafone dalam AUD13. Bila dah beli tu, tak boleh register pulak. Adoii hampeh.
We spent so much time trying to locate a Vodafone shop, asking for directions/ google map semua pun susah betul nak jumpa. Padahal kedai tu kat tingkat atas, dalam SXS je. Punyalah weols pusing satu dunia!
So pilihlah mana berkenan. |

Tengok tu kak long, short sleeve ja dia pakai. Iols pakai baju 2 lapis pun sejuk sampai ke tulang. |
Tips: Uols beli jelah terus dari kedai Telco itu sendiri dimana nanti staff dia akan tolong uols register terus, senang tak payah sakit kepala buang masa macam weols.
Lepas tu nak cari apartment AirBnb tu pun satu hal jugak. Hahahah!

Tanya direction pun sama jugak, semua taktau.
Last-last jumpa dan kemudian weols tepuk dahi beramai-ramai. Astagaaaaa. Betul-betul depan SXS jeh, tak sampai 5 minit pun jalan kaki.
Unit apartment ni ada satu bilik with 1 queen bed, 1 sofa bed boleh muat 2 orang, dapur yang lengkap, TV, Wifi, washer & dryer, bathroom, dining table. Pendek kata selesa lah.
AirBnb accommodation cost: RM696/ pax for 6 nights.
Tambah lagi masa tu mendung so pukul 6pm dah gelap samar-samar sejuk.
Actually, grocery shopping is our Aussie trip highlight, even when we were in Perth. Who gets excited about grocery shopping? We do, the aging makciks.

I'm that person who doesn't have nice travel photos because I take nice photos for everyone. |

So bayangkanlah RM60 sekali makan.
