So most would know that I spend my free time/ off days at the gym right? So now my colleagues never ask "What did you do on your off day?" instead they ask "Did you go to the gym yesterday?".
My colleague was horrified that I go the gym alone and asked "Tak kena kacau ke kat gym?"
Helooo..orang2 di gym tu mana ada masa nak kacau orang. They are too busy admiring themselves/their muscles in the mirror.
What is so great about gym that I spend so much of my time there?
Well, before i started working fulltime, i was a regular, hitting the gym 3-4 times a week. So regular that the front desk staff knew my name, made friends with few other regulars. So whenever I was there, I see familiar faces. So regular that after sometime I didn't go, the regulars would say "Hey..where have you been?"
Oh did i tell you this gym has quite a number of good looking personal trainers?Ahem. Who didn't like looking at hunky hot guys? I do. And who didn't like it when hunky hot guys smiled at you and greet you? I definitely do!
Kalau dia main mata macam ni kompom saya pengsan di tempat kejadian dan memerlukan CPR |
All In A Day's Work
Lately all I talk about is gym and work. Work and gym. and whenever friends asked me out at night, I'll be like "I work till 10pm and I have morning shift tomorrow.". Does that make me a workaholic now? Is that good or bad? Haha
One thing I like about my work now is the different character I get to meet everyday. I guess work does not feel like work when you are having fun doing it.
We get all this rich customers who travelled to oversea all the time. They will come in and say
"My gosh! your product is so expensive! Do you know I can get this in US for only $60?"
After explaining that it is cheaper in US because it is MADE IN US, minus the transportation cost, taxes, currency bla bla bla and still they will be like "But still?? Why so expensive?!! I better get it in US."
Kalau nasi lemak di US mahal tidak pula bising. Duhhh..rasa mau tampar ja.
Well anyway, the highlight of the day is of course customers who were nice and appreciative of your service. So the other day this 2 aunty came in and I nicely explained everything to them, being all courteous, warm and friendly and before they walk out, they say "Thank you for your patience ya."
Oh and Dato' Sheila Majid came the other day with her husband. She was soooo petite and very friendly. She's like really normal and so humble! Tidak berlagak diva langsung. I was not star-struck because well, I'm not exactly her fan so no near-fainting episodes or photo-taking or autograph signing. Lain la kalau Fahrin Ahmad. hehe.
Did I tell you also sometimes we are nutritionist cum listening ear?
So the other day, a customer who is in the midst of divorce came. It was a really sad story and she was on the verge of tears when she told us about it. She and her (ex) husband are both specialist. She risk her career for that husband, he refused to give back the car she paid for and kick her out of her own house. I think she had a surgery done then when she was not feeling well, ask her husband to come home earlier, the husband said "No. I've got a party to attend." How devastating is that? So she was saying to us, don't lose your life, be independent. So if anything happen to you, you can pick yourself up again. She was married for 3 years.
Nowadays kawin cerai macam tukar baju. So sad.
She is not the first person to tell us to think carefully about marriage and things like that. So my colleague who's getting engaged next week was like
"Err...why is everybody telling me to think carefully about getting married? Now I'm scared."
