Malaysians and Their Obsession With Free Things

Malaysians have this obsession with free things. I've observed that everywhere, including in a supermarket. Remember when Datuk Lee Chong Wei won a medal in the Olympics and Baskin' and Robins gave free ice-cream? The lines are LONG everywhere and people are willing to stand in the line for hours just for a scoop of something free.

More and more people feel they are entitled to something and that the government owe them. One of the news sometime before election was citizens in Selangor is suing the state government for failing to provide them with free water. Helloooooo...a lot of people in interior of Sabah and Sarawak don't have access to clean water pun diam2 saja.

You still remember the ANNOYING "listen,listen,listen,listen" video involving a UUM student debating why can't the current government give Malaysians free education? I personally think both party are a bit at fault here. The student should have calmly presented her points and not raise her voice and i think the moderator is carried away by her emotions. She should have give answers that reflects her maturity and intelligence level and not argue about animals, bird,cows having problems too.

In the recent election, one of the manifesto was to give free education to Malaysians. While many agree and demanded this, i wonder if they ever really think about it or they just want everything free? Sometimes people just don't know how to be grateful. Primary and secondary schools have Skim Pinjaman Buku Teks among other things to help parents ease their burden. Now people do not need to pay public exam fees. Kalau semua benda mau free, siapa mau bayar gaji cikgu, pekerja2 sekolah, mau beli alatan pembelajaran, aktiviti sekolah? More often than not, teachers have to use their own money for all these things.

It is acceptable to give free education in primary and secondary level but to expect it till tertiary level is too much. I know someone who studied in a government linked tertiary level institution. Besides only paying a minimal fee, they are also given a small amount of monthly allowance. He said "Siapa cakap kerajaan tak bagi pendidikan percuma?" Kalau semua mau free, siapa yang mau bayar gaji lecturer, siapa mau bayar itu ini bla bla bla...If you have noticed, people are more likely to appreciate things that they worked hard for. Who says government did not provide free education in Uni? If you work hard and excel in Uni, your PTPTN will be converted to a scholarship. If you want free education so much, then work hard to excel. Simple as that.

Anyway, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If one individual or group gets something at no cost, somebody else ends up paying for it. Semua benda mau free. Air, tol, pendidikan. Kedekut mau keluar duit untuk benda yang penting tapi minum kopi mau Starbucks, makan mau Kenny Rogers, beli baju mau Topman Topshop Zara, kereta mau BMW Peugeot. Minum kedai kopi tepi jalan sudaaa...

Eh emosi pulak. Ok bye.

Tajuk mengundang kontroversi Sis ni bukan apa rajin pergi gym, selain nak bersenam, iols juga suka mencuci mata. Pernah jumpa tak manusia yang indah khabar dari rupa? Ataupun manusia yang dalam sosial media adalah seseorang yang sangat menarik hidupnya, melancong sana sini, kelihatan peramah dengan cerita-cerita pasal orang sekeliling dia tapi dalam kehidupan sebenar, agak sendu dan krik krik? Inferno Panic

Last night, Joel, Anne and i was chatting in the house when we smell something burning. We looked everywhere for the source of the smell until i saw smoke coming out of the main switchboard. First it was only smoke, then little flame. Before long, the fire got bigger! Smoke fill the house and it smell of burning plastic and rubber. We panic and run out of the house. Knocked on neighbour's door to ask if they have fire extinguisher while Anne and I trying to think who to call for help. We wanted to call bomba but didn't know the number! In that moment of panic, we forgot that it's 999. So we call friends asking for bomba's number. Anne called her friend and the first thing her friend said "Anne! Save your laptop and your thesis!" Amazing Swimming Pools

I am a Pisces and "pisces" in Latin means fish. Pisces love to swim. So that explains my strong affinity for water. Just like a fish, i find water to be calming and soothing. Recently i've began to swim regularly after so long. Not only it is a good exercise, it releases stress and is extremely calming. I've read somewhere that water is a good medium to buffer and absorb all your negative energy and emotions. Two in one eh? I've developed obsession over swimming pools recently. Why i always seems to have obsession lately is beyond me. The nicest pool i've been to so far was this pool with an amazing view of Petronas Twin Tower. Perfect for a night swim as it was quiet and the pool is heated. Macam infinity pool tapi tidak juga. Infinity pools are the nicest! Jom cuci mata sambil berangan ada pool macam ni... Ooh that's super nice. Perfect for a night swim. This is a pool in Bali. So calming. Next trip perhaps? ...
