The Amazing Petronas Twin Tower

Sigh. Another wordless Wednesday.  Well anyway, I've always found the Petronas Twin Tower amazing and fascinating. I'll never grow tired of gazing at it, both near and from far. A magnificent sight to behold. With the power bestowed upon me.... I love how the light from the tower got reflected by passing clouds.. Tiada kaitan dengan yang hidup atau mati.

The Inspiring Story of Malala Yousafazai

Malala Yousafzai is not like any other 16 years old teenager. She is one brave, opinionated girl who was known for her education and women's right activism in Pakistan where Taliban ruled. She fought for education for girls (Taliban is known for banning girls from attending school) and in the process, got shot in the head and neck. Miraculously, she survived. Almost being killed did not deter her from fighting for education rights. She was featured on front page of Time magazine and was one of "The 100 Most Influential People In The World". She was also nominated for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, the youngest so far. "The terrorists thought they would change my aims and stop my ambitions, but nothing changed in my life except this: weakness, fear and hopelessness died. Strength, power and courage was born ... I am not against anyone, neither am I here to speak in terms of personal revenge against the Taliban or any other terrorist group. I'm here to speak up ...

My First Research Article

So finally my research article is published in Malaysian Journal of Nutrition. Hooray! Took my blood, sweat, tears and 1 1/2 years to write it. Draft after draft. Many thanks to Le Supervisor and all of you who help me either direct or indirectly while writing this article.  Click HERE to read the abstract and if you are interested, you can download the full article from the page.  Hope to publish few more on my current research. Pat myself on the back while squeezing my brain and creative juices to complete my dissertation. HARD WORK.  Yeah. That's more like it.

Bikinication: Project Phuket Part 2

In case you have not read the part 1, click HERE .  So on the 3rd day we went island hopping to Phi Phi Island where the movie "The Beach" featuring Leonardo Dicaprio was filmed.  Bought the package while wandering around Patong Beach but you can get these island hopping packages anywhere in Phuket.  Like many other things in Phuket, you have to bargain. We got our package for 1050 Baht/pax which included transport to and fro hotel, lunch and refreshments, snorkeling equipment and covers Maya Bay (where the filming was), Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Monkey Beach and Khai Nok Island.  We only stop and got down the boat at Maya Bay, another lagoon i don't know what's the name for snorkeling, Phi Phi Don for lunch and Khai Nok Island.  They picked us up at 7.45am from the hotel and all of us gathered in a place for a briefing. There were 3 boats that day for all of us,  then departed to the jetty which was about 1...

Bikinication: Project Phuket Part 1

Partner in crime and i finally went for our bikinication get-away and we went to Phuket for 4 days!  She managed to find really cheap MAS flight tickets (rm232 return tickets to Phuket). Definitely cheaper than going back to Kuching.  The flight to Phuket from KLIA took us about 1 hour plus. Our refreshment comes in cute blue box The taxi from airport to where we stayed cost us 740 baht (about rm74) per car and our hotel is just AMAZING.  Alfresco Phuket Hotel has wonderful service, super friendly staff, clean room, free wifi, complimentary drinking water replenished everyday and the most awesome thing is they have a rooftop infinity pool.  Well, you know my obsession with swimming pools.  They also provided free shuttle service to town and beach and just next to the hotel is a 24 hour mart. We booked via Agoda and got RM208 (RM104/pax) for 3 nights. Super cheap and it's worth every penny.  Clean, spacious and gotta love the r...
