Yeah, I definitely need a man looking like that to change my tires. |
Besides making a baby that is. Yes, you can be egoistical feminist and say things like I don't need a man to have a child. There's sperm donor and fertility technologies and stuff. But you still need a MAN to be a sperm donor right?
Yes they like independent woman but deep down, everyone wants to feel that they are needed isn't it? Sometimes it can be tricky to draw a line between dependency and needing.
Anyway, I need a man to:
- Help me carry heavy things. Muscle man.
- Help me with gadgets, cars and things like that. Oh you know that tip about bringing a guy to the workshop so the mechanics won't kelentong you. Recently my car kick up a problem (again) and i called my good friend, Colvin who recommends me to his cousins who were super nice mechanics. Thank God for that. And my brother is really good with gadgets so I refer to him for laptop's problem.
- Help me open the jar lid. I'm strong but not that strong.
- Barbecue! Guys are naturally amazing with fires and barbecue. So whenever there's bbq gathering, naturally they will be in charge of that.
- Manly man job - like grass-cutting, gathering firewoods, cangkul-cangkul, korek lubang. Basically anything that requires hard labour.
- A good listener - I've found that most of my guy friends are really good listener. They actually listen to what you want to say and only give their opinion when asked. They are also less judgmental and have crazy sense of humour.
Sometimes, it can be really hard to ask guys do things for us, especially things they think is a woman's job. Like helping with the dishes, laundry, cooking. Here's the trick. Compliment them, even if they are not so good at it.
Say things like "Thank you sweetie. You are my hero. I couldn't do it without you." or "Wow. You are so strong to be able to carry that." That way, they'll feel appreciated and would want to do it for you because they want to make you happy and who doesn't like compliments anyway?
Cheers to all the man. You are all a hero to somebody.
