Cik Panda's Bridesmaid Theory

I have this one brilliant theory about choosing bridesmaid. No matter who you choose, do not, I repeat DO NOT choose a girl who is better looking than you are. But why?! Your wedding is your big day so logically all spotlight, attention and admiration should be on you.  Betul tak uols? Para tetamu yang datang sepatutnya tengok uols dengan penuh rasa kekaguman, admiration, adoration dan berkata "Oh, she is the most beautiful bride I have ever seen!"  Tapi itu semua cuma tinggal harapan dan angan-angan pelaminku musnah kalau uols pilih bridesmaid yang lagi cantik meletup floless dari uols. You'll become pale in comparison. Standard la uols. Fokus kita secara automatiknya akan beralih kepada makhluk yang paling helok, cantik dan sempurna. Uols nak ke macam tu? Uols nak ke tetamu puji dan pandang bridesmaids uols je? People will only look at her (i hope not). One of my friend disagree with me and say we should choose someone good looking so the wedd...

I'm a terrible liar

So there was this guy i knew through chatting who always wanted to ask me out. I have been avoiding meeting him by giving lots and lots of excuses.  The truth is i don't go out with somebody if i don't feel comfortable around them.  And to be brutally honest, he gave me the impression that he is the kind of guy who's insecure, jealous, sensitive (not in a good way) and a potential control freak. One fine day, a male friend wanted to buy a gift for his (special) girlfriend and asked me to accompany him.  Being a good friend that i am, i agreed.  While we were browsing through the stalls, a guy looked at me and call out my name.  Lo and behold, it's the control freak.  Guy: I told you i would recognize you if we met. Why didn't you reply my text? (which he sent less than half an hour ago, note the pattern of being insecure here). Me: Emm..my battery died. Guy: But your phone is blinking.... Me: (Damn!) Er..my battery almost died so i'm t...

How I Celebrate The Day I Turn Younger

I'm glad my birthday falls on a weekend this year. There was no hardcore partying/clubbing as my partner-in-crime and i promised to be good this Lent season..for real.  Anyway, my dearest friend and I went to  pH pastryhouse  in Lakefield, Sg Besi for birthday lunch on Saturday. I have always wanted to go since dearest partner-in-crime can't stop ranting about this place. The ambiance was nice though i did not get to take much pictures.  Picture from pH pastryhouse FB page I had Cordon Bleu Chicken with Apple Sauce. Mozzarella cheese was a nice surprise. Iced Caramel Latte and Iced Vanilla Latte My friend had Spaghetti Bolognese. She said " Presentation wise can be improved".   We did not get to taste the pastries. Although to be honest, i was a bit disappointed as there were not much choice of cakes, cupcakes or tarts when we were there. Some other time eh. In the evening, we ...

A Cup Of Coffee And A Sense Of Melancholy

I love coffee and can't live without one (although i mostly drink instant coffee). I prefer mine milky and sweet with a tinge of bitterness.  I especially love the smell of coffee on a cold, rainy nights. Having coffee on nights like that, listening to the sound of the rain on the roof while watching my favourite TV show/reading a book or just talking to your loved ones is one of the most awesome thing in the world. That amazing smell of coffee reminds me of good times.  It amazingly gives me a sense of calmness, a feeling of comfort. It reminds me of home too.  It reminds me of vacations i took and places i went. Koreans especially love their coffee. Coffee shops, coffee vending machines with all kinds of coffee are everywhere! Let's find out why coffee is good for you by reading THIS   At the mean time, feast your eyes on my collection of coffee pictures... Choices choices choices Drinking coffee while watching the world go b...

Hygiene Hypothesis and Asthma

This is some serious topic.  Kind of. Ye la uols. Kalau topik merapu merepek cerita pasal (mis)adventure Cik Panda, lajuuuuu je uols baca kan. Kalau topik informative, krik krik sangat viewers dia. Hihi Anyway, have you heard of hygiene theory and it's relation to asthma?  What is Hygiene Hypothesis/theory? Hygiene theory hypotheses that childhood exposure to germs and certain infections helps the immune system develop. ' This teaches the body to differentiate harmless substances from the harmful substances that trigger asthma.  In theory, exposure to certain germs teaches the immune system not to overreact. Children growing up in rural areas, around animals and in larger families seem to develop asthma less often than other children.  According to the hygiene hypothesis, this is due to increased exposure to particular viruses, bacteria or parasites.
