Joel: Thorn Among The Roses

I couldn't really recall how our friendship started but all I could remember was it was during Easter gathering 2012 that this nut job came into our circle of friends. The rest, they say is history. The 3 of us grew closer because we spend a lot of time doing crazy things together. Dia pun banyak simpan rahsia saya and vice versa. Hobi kami tiga, tengok FB kemudian bahan orang yang attention seeker. Dia ni rupa ada tapi tidak pandai bergaya. Selalu macam somba. Selalu kena tegur kami dua sampai bila mau beli baju, seluar, akan consult dulu tanya kami  sesuai ka tidak. Wakaka.   Kami berdua Anne selalu berpakat bergaduh dengan dia. Selalu marah-marah dia sebab terlalu manja and atas macam-macam sebab sampai dia kadang-kadang cakap  "Saya tau la saya jahat...bukan orang yang baik" Minta kasian. Tapi kadang-kadang kasian juga lah kami dengan dia. Cuma kami tidak tunjuk saja. Nampak saja selalu happy go lucky tapi sebenarnya dia ni sensitif. Kalau dia sedih bukan di

Confession Of A Post Grad Student

The most common question I get besides "when are you getting married?" is  "when are you going to complete your study?" When i answered "I'm not sure. It depends on a lot of things." "Lamanya ko study. Tidak penat ka belajar. Saya pula yang penat tengok ko ni study tidak pandai abis2." Aik. Biarlah saya lama study, bukan saya pakai duit ko/susahkan ko pun kan. Yang penat pun saya, bukan yang menanya tu. Eh emo pulak. The truth is completion of a postgraduate study depends on a lot of factors. It's not like degree where you attend classes, took exams, passed then you are guaranteed to complete your studies in that stipulated time. There are two types of Masters. One is Masters by coursework where it's like an extension of degree, attend classes, assignments, project paper and voila, graduate in 2 years time.  Another one is Masters by thesis, which I'm doing now. We only attend classes in first and second semeste

Burger Burger @ Go Burger Kitchen

Lately I've become a Groupon junkie.  My most expensive purchase was THIS . Tsk tsk..but it was worth it.  Was browsing Groupon website the other day and saw this meal for two voucher. Jadi apa lagi, terus click buy.  Saja la mau try test tempat ni okay ka tidak. For RM32, we get 2 sets of burger + chips + drink So I drag my darling Anne along to Go Burger Kitchen in Setiawalk, Puchong.  I love this place. It's like in a garden and they have cafes where you can sit beside that man-made pool. Love this corner  Menu Menu Menuuuu Love these arts on the wall Anne had pork burger. They let you choose if you want your patty to be grilled or fried. Anne had hers fried.  I had beef burger. Humongous. The patty was tender and i love the chips but i think the bun was a bit dry. I probably like my burger to be a bit sloppy/wet/messy. This was okaaaayy la. I've tasted better burgers. But i could be bias because i'm not really a burger person.

Confession Of A Gym Member Few Months Later

You remember how excited and motivated I was when I first joined the fitness centre? Read the post HERE . Kalau boleh setiap hari saya bertenggek sana gym. I've kept my routine of cardio classes and try to attend it whenever I could. But there are days..like today..that I feel extremely demotivated, super lazy and planning to skip gym.  Novelty wearing off eh? The thing about fitness and exercise is that you have to be consistent.   Remember I said muscle needed exercise to be build and maintain? Kalau tidak maintain dia akan kecut balik. Jadi sia-sia saja la saya buat squat etc kasi mantap bontot tapi tidak konsisten kan..nanti bontot sekejap besar sekejap kempis.  Aduiiii...malasnya. Once you reached that plateau, it can be really hard to get back into your routine. And it does not help that my gym buddy lagi lama tidak pegi gym dari saya.. Kalau kamu cakap "Byk hot guys working out di gym, harus lah ko bersemangat pegi workout". Bosan sudah saya dengan di

Tons of Kuih Picture To Make You Drool

Kuih and I, we go wayyy back. It's the ultimate unconditional love. LOVE them. All shapes and sizes. Sweet or savoury.  When we were little, elders in the family would came back from the market, always coming back with kuih.  That is enough to make us happy and go "Yeayyyy!! ada kuih!!".  Buying kuih is also the highlight of grocery shopping in the Sunday market. I can't contain my excitement when I see a stall selling kuih and somebody has to restraint me before I go broke buying kuih.  Kalau boleh dengan payung dia sekali sis beli. Rambang mata.  Lepas tu balik rumah, buat teh O, duduk di meja makan, makan kuih sambil berborak dengan family.  That is happiness.  Kalau pergi bazaar ramadhan, tidak payah cakap lah. Silap-silap organizer tu letak tiara crown kat kepala iols "Ratu Kuih Bazaar Ramadhan." Mampuu?! Here's some of my favourite kuih. Cik Panda confirm lepas baca post ni, ramai la yang pegi mencari kuih hari ni. Miahaha. P

Girls Talk: Dating, Neediness and Desperation

Girls Talk: Dating, Neediness, And Desperation Who do people date ?  People date for a lot of reasons. Some to find a spouse, some date just for fun while some date to expand their social circles. Related: 8 Great Reasons To Date To me, personally, I date because I met someone interesting and wanted to get to know them more. Spending time together to discover  what kind of person they are, their values, goals, or passions, only then do I decide if they are compatible with me. Unfortunately, many girls skip this part when it comes to dating to find a partner or spouse. Probably because they can't wait to jump on the "Marriage Bandwagon"? When they met a guy who showed the slightest bit of interest in them, their mind instantly goes into relationship mode.  T hey are already thinking of a relationship with this guy even before they go on a date.  The truth is, many girls date to be in a relationship or marriage. You hear them say "I want a boyfriend" or "I

Pray For MH370

It is indeed a very sad day for all of us. Although most of us were not directly affected by it, but our hearts, thoughts and prayers goes out to those whose family and friends were involved. I really couldn't imagine what those in the plane went through. When you think about it, event like this taught  and reminds us a few things. It reminds us that we are all human, we are all the same despite our race, religion or nationality. It reminds us that life is precious but it is often short. It taught us not to take our loved ones for granted. For once, we focus on things that really matter. People all around the world are saddened by this news and it is heart warming that nations come together to help despite all the conflicts and disagreements. We are united. We empathise. Because deep down we know what its like to worry about our loved ones, what its like to lost a loved one. Humanity above race, religion or nationality.  We are also reminded of how short life is, that we a

Confession Of A Jendolicious

Confession Of A Jendolicious Jendol is a BM word for wide forehead. So basically, Jendolicious is gorgeous chicks with a wide forehead. Gituuuh I have a 5 finger forehead, which means I can fit all my 5 fingers on my forehead. Not only it is wide, but it is also very prominent.  Double blessing or double trouble?  I don't know why but people loved to point it out. It's like they are telling me "Omg. You have boobs." No, I don't hate it but I'm not madly in love with it either. I'm just trying to live with it. If I were to be given a choice, I would prefer a smaller forehead. It's just like someone with protruding teeth. We did not choose to have this or that physical trait.  Unlike protruding teeth that can be corrected with braces, there's nothing I can do about my forehead except covering it with bangs or hats. Unfortunately, my hair is very fine and very prone to oiliness and tend to stick to the forehead like a wet mop...pffttttt
